I grew up riding but discovered my passion for working with young horses when I purchased my first quarter horse (Storm) in 2009. Receiving guidance in natural horsemanship methods from local mentors (Jerry & Bobbie Fenner) and soon after attending clinics with Jim Anderson, Dan James, Buck Brennaman & Clinton Anderson, I realized my love for horse training. I purchased my second horse (Paris) in 2012 and continued to ride as many horses as possible to develop my skills. My daughter Becca became a strong training partner as she had the ability to desensitize horses in a way that only a child could. In 2014 Becca and I were invited to Jim and Andrea Anderson's home in Strathmore Alberta, where I was given the opportunity to ride young horses in training and learn first hand from Jim and his background in many different disciplines of horsemanship including: roping, reining, cowboy up and most recently winning the Road to the Horse colt starting challenge. In the following year I was surprised to have numerous requests to train horses and took on my first official case studies in 2015. I am excited to continue to grow and develop, attending horsemanship clinics annually with Higher Horsemanship and receiving personal guidance and instruction from my mentor Andrea Anderson. I strongly believe in the use of natural horsemanship to develop a solid foundation for success and feel communication with clients is integral to a successful training program. |

I am a young girl who loves all animals especially horses! I love training and riding them. I don't look at horse training and riding as a hobby I look at it as a lifestyle! I love the feelings horses bring me; I believe that every horse is special in it's own way. I have been wanting to train horses since I first started riding and exploring liberty training with Storm. I am very successful with my horse and I enjoy doing what I do! I am currently pursuing a training career working with small horses & ponies. I hope to provide a safe learning experience for children, helping them to build the confidence they need to succeed in their horsemanship journey. My first riding partner was a quarter pony named Missy; Missy was used by countless children in the community to help build their confidence in riding. At the age of 7 I had outgrown my sweet pony and started riding my moms first project training horse Storm, we developed a very special connection that many people have said they admire. When I was 9 years old I took part in my first Jim Anderson horsemanship/reining clinic. I loved learning all of the fundamental skills and took quickly to Jim's training method. Since then I have continued to grow as a rider taking part in as many clinics as possible. My most recent training project "Prim" has been a very humbling and rewarding experience. She has helped me to understand new methods of assisting horses that have previous trauma and unnatural responses. With help and personal coaching from Andrea Anderson I have been able to build a solid foundation of trust, making Prim more confident. Some of the people I aspire to most include Jim & Andrea Anderson, Luke Gingerich and Madison Shambaugh. |
