Today I took Moon to Bobby and Jerry Fenner's. They own a really nice arena so I went and rode. Moon did really good when I rode her, but then more people came into the arena so instead I did some ground work. On the ground I did some flexing her neck from side to side trying to get her soft and give to pressure. After that I did some C lunging. she did pretty good. Later on I took her over the obstacles that they had. She did really good with that. later today I went for trail ride with mom and Shan. Same thing as yesterday I rode Storm ponied Moon, mom rode Faith, and Shan rode Paris. It was a really good day!

Today was my first official ride on Moon. I first worked her on the ground getting her to turn her hindquarters away from me and her shoulder away from me. Then I got her to flex her head back and forth till she was softer and gave to the pressure. After that I did some lunging getting her transitions from a walk to a trot and a trot to a canter good. Then after doing that for A bit I then Got on her again. at the start it went well she was going good every thing was good she was trotting when i asked and slowing down. Then I stopped her because I was talking to my mom. While I was talking to my mom I went to pet her neck and I got off balance and she did a little scoot and I came off. it was all good she didn't do anything wrong but now I know what I need to work on with her. so I cleaned myself up and got back on and worked with her to get her calm again. Then we went for a trail ride to the Fort my grandma Debbie Ek and her friends made. I would tell you where it is but it's top secret! For the trail ride I rode Storm and ponied Moon, mom rode Faith again and Shan rode Paris again also. It was a really good ride. that's how day two went with little miss Moon on her second day with me, and if you ask me it went pretty well! May 12, 2017
Today Little Moon arrived! Little Moon is a white POA( Pony Of America). She is the cutest and sweetest pony I have ever met and very kind and smart! Her owner is Shan Weebly who in my words is very, very nice! Anyway when she got to our place and we took her out of the trailer I knew right away that i was going to enjoy our journey together. Later on we went for a ride with Shan. I rode Storm and ponied Little Moon, mom rode Faith and Shan rode Paris( they made a great team!). We went to Cutt's Fields near Grasmere. Cutt's Fields is my favorite ride because you can ride in the fields and theirs no gopher holes. after that ride I rode Moon around so i could get the feel of her. she is small but moves and feels like a horse. I had an amazing day and it was very, very exciting! My journey starts now and I can't wait to see where it takes me! These last few days have been very nice and sunny!! I was able to give the horses a bath on Sunday and on Monday it seemed as if I could swim the horses, it was just simply beautiful out!!! I am sorry again for not writing a blog post the last few days, I have been very busy with school. Anyway I guess I should probably tell you guys about the last few days. Well on Sunday my mom and I went to Bobby and Jerry Fenners arena. It was a lot of Fun because they have all these obstacles that you can work your horses on and you can trail ride from there too! Anyway I rode Storm and my mom rode Faith and Paris and later on after I rode Storm I took Faith through the obstacles. Any how I rode Storm in the arena first and then went and took her through the obstacles. She did really good except she didn't like all the water bottles in water obstacle, so I had to work her for a little bit to make her go through it. After riding Storm and taking her through the obstacles I took faith through them. She did great with all the obstacles and instead of getting scared of an obstacle she got scared of a bird. It's kind of weird don't you think that she didn't get scared of an obstacle that she saw for the first time but instead got scared of a bird which she sees every . I guess i just think it's weird. Anyway on Monday I rode Storm on a trail ride and did groundwork with Paris and Faith. the groundwork I worked on was C lunging, making sure that they didn't drop there shoulders into there circle and I did some side passing to and from me, also did some liberty. For liberty I worked on them coming to me when i said their names and whistled. they did great with all that except Paris kept dropping her shoulder into the circle, but in the end she did great!!! By the way I am having a pony to work with over the summer. She is coming this Friday the 12th. The pony is a mare and her name is "Little Moon". I will be posting our progress on Facebook and on my blog so stay tuned for our adventure. My adventure starts now.
I am very sorry I forgot to do a blog post yesterday so today I'm going to talk about both. Okay lets start with yesterday. well yesterday I rode Storm and did groundwork with Paris. with Storm I took her on a trail ride and with Paris I worked her on the with desensitizing her to me running up to her. I also did some C lunging like usual and getting her at a trot look at me in the inside instead of looking at all the trees to the outside. That's what I did yesterday and today I rode Storm and did ground work with Paris and Faith. Instead of going on a trail ride with Storm I worked on my arena stuff such as my spins( which are those who don't know it's when you get the horse to turn on it's hindquarters) and my small circles with her body nice and bent the inside. I also worked on my lead departures. When I was on the ground with Paris and Faith I worked on getting them to look to the inside not the outside and I also did some desensitizing with me running at them and using the umbrella. I also did some C lunging. these last few days have been great theirs been so much nice sunshine it actually seems like Spring!!!
The last few days have been interesting because my mom and I went for a night time ride and got to ride in the dark with only head lamps. On the that ride I rode Faith. She did amazing!! Usually she is very sensitive and a bit spooky but that night she was amazing!!! Along the ride a found some elk sheds. It was really scary and exciting at the same time!! Anyway I was very impressed by how well faith did on that ride, she was great!! Today was very fun because we went to Chisholm Ranch for a branding. It was a lot of fun because I got to round up cows and also go on a trail ride. On the trail ride I rode Storm. While riding Storm I worked on getting her collected (for those who don't know what collection means it's when you want a horse to round it's neck ) at a trot and I also worked on my lead departures. I had a lot of fun seeing old friends that hadn't seen in a while. I had a great day and I can't wait till tomorrows ride!!!
Today the weather was very odd because it was raining and then all of a sudden it started to hail. Until it started to hail I was riding Storm. While riding Storm I did some small circles at a trot and making them bend to the inside. I also worked on my side passing both directions and lead departures. It was a good day till it started to hail. That's I got to today, I am hoping that the weather will be nicer tomorrow and that I will be able to work with all three horses!!!
Today was an extraordinary day! For the most part I rode but still did some refreshers on the ground work from yesterday. I rode all three of them today. I started with Paris, then Faith, and last but not least Storm. while I was riding Paris I did a lot of small circles at a trot making her bend to the inside. little bit later I did some side passing in both directions and then practiced my lead changes. Then I rode Faith. while riding Faith I also did some small circles at a trot making her bend to the inside. Then I practiced my lead departures and my spins. For those who don`t know what a spin is, it`s when you spin them on there hindquarters. Lastly I rode Storm. Well hears the thing though, I rode Paris and Faith in a western saddle but instead of riding Storm in a western saddle I rode her in an English saddle. I think she did pretty well for being ridden in an English saddle. At the end of the day the girls got to wear there new slinkies. For those who don`t know what a slinkie is i shall tell you what I know. A slinkie is a leotard material that goes over there heads and ties under the belly. It has eye holes and ear holes and an adjustable nose hole. It is supposed to help make there mane and forelock grow. They look like ninja`s to me!:)
Today was an amazing day and all the horses got a bath!! I worked all three horses on the ground and rode Storm. while on the ground I worked on some of the same things as yesterday such as doing some C lunging and making them bend to the inside. I also did yielding the hindquarters and forequarters and working on there back ups. when I was riding Storm I did some small circles at a trot getting her soft in the face. I also practiced my lead departures both directions. I also rode Storm English and Western.
